Tom and Joe sit down with Robert Hess, a Chess Grandmaster about the growth of Chess from a digital platform, including Twitch. They keep relating to The Queen’s Gambit, the Netflix hit show to draw parallels (excluding the green pills). Beginning at 8 years old, Robert started to progress his skills at chess including traveling abroad for tournaments and the work he had to put in to balance his schoolwork and chess mastery. At the age of 17, he was named a Chess Grandmaster, before going to study at Yale and his connection to Overtime. Today he commentates for Chess.com and uses his own personal Twitch channel to continue to grow the game. Shortly after this was recorded, Tom, Tom and Joe jumped on Robert’s Twitch stream that had upwards of 15,000 viewers! Check him out on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/gmhess
